Mango is one of the important fruits used for beverage processing in many African markets. Turning fresh mangoes into a stable commercial beverage requires an integrated process covering fruit washing, pulping, formulation, homogenization, heat treatment, filling, and packaging.
This 500 kg/h mango juice production line in Uganda is designed for processing mango raw materials and producing a finished mango beverage in 500 ml plastic bottles.
The project includes raw material washing, stone removal and pulping, screening, mixing, homogenization, heat treatment, finished-product storage, filling, capping, labeling, and coding.

The supplied project document specifies a 0.5 t/h processing capacity for the main fruit-processing equipment, corresponding to approximately 500 kg/h.
Mango Juice Production Process
The proposed process flow is:
Mango Receiving → Washing → Stone Removal & Pulping → Screening → Mixing → Homogenization → Heat Treatment → Storage → Filling → Capping → Labeling → Coding
The first stage uses a bubble washing and lifting machine to remove surface impurities from the mangoes. The washed fruit then enters the stone removal and pulping machine.
After pulping, a 100-mesh vibrating screen is used for further screening before the mango pulp moves into the formulation section.
Water Treatment System
The Uganda project includes a 0.5 t/h water treatment system for process water preparation.
The system includes raw water storage, quartz sand filtration, activated carbon filtration, scale inhibition, RO treatment, pure water storage, and constant-pressure water supply.
| Equipment | Specification |
|---|---|
| Raw Water Tank | 1,000 L |
| RO Water Treatment | 0.5 t/h |
| Pure Water Tank | 1,000 L |
| Constant-Pressure Pump | 2 t/h |
| RO Type | Single-stage |
The main water-treatment equipment uses SUS304 stainless steel, with fiberglass pretreatment tanks and PVC process piping.

Mango Pulp Processing and Formulation
The fruit-processing section includes a 0.5 t/h bubble washing and lifting machine and a 0.5 t/h stone removal and pulping machine.
A 100-mesh vibrating screen is included after pulping, together with buffer tanks and stainless steel screw pumps.
The formulation section uses a 500 L SUS304 stainless steel mixing tank with steam heating, insulation, agitation, and CIP connections.
A 500 L insulated buffer tank is also included to provide intermediate product storage before homogenization and heat treatment.
Homogenization and Heat Treatment
The production line includes a 0.5 t/h homogenizer with a specified pressure of 25 MPa.
Homogenization is positioned before thermal treatment to help achieve a more uniform beverage structure.
For thermal processing, the project includes a 0.5 t/h instantaneous sterilization machine. The equipment uses steam heating and water cooling, with adjustable sterilization temperature and a product circulation system.
The project requirements describe the process as pasteurization, while the equipment quotation specifies an instantaneous sterilization system. The final thermal process should therefore be confirmed according to the actual mango beverage formula and shelf-life requirements.

Finished Product Storage and CIP
After heat treatment, the beverage enters a 500 L SUS304 stainless steel finished-product tank.
The tank is insulated and equipped with agitation, a manhole, breather, liquid-level indicator, and product connections.
For hygienic production, the line includes a 300 L × 3 CIP cleaning system made from SUS316 stainless steel. It uses steam heating and includes a process pump. A 20 t/h return pump with a 316L stainless steel pump head is also included.

500 ml Mango Juice Filling and Packaging
The packaging section is designed for 500 ml plastic bottles.
The supplied configuration includes:
- 12-head inverted bottle washing machine
- 4-head quantitative filling machine
- Single-head magnetic capping machine
- Single-label labeling machine
- Laser coding machine
- Conveyors
The 4-head filling machine uses magnetic-pump quantitative filling, PLC control, and adjustable filling volume. Its specified capacity is 500–1,000 bottles/hour.

Confirmed Requirements vs Equipment Data
For this Uganda mango juice project, the confirmed project requirements include the 500 kg/h processing capacity, 500 ml bottle format, mango washing, pulping, mixing, homogenization, heat treatment, hot filling, and storage.
The equipment reference data includes individual machine capacities and specifications such as 0.5 t/h processing equipment, 25 MPa homogenization, 500–1,000 BPH filling capacity, and the 300 L × 3 CIP system.
These equipment ratings should not automatically be interpreted as guaranteed finished-product output. Actual performance depends on mango characteristics, product formulation, operating conditions, and the final process design.
Conclusion
This 500 kg/h mango juice production line in Uganda integrates fruit preparation, pulp processing, formulation, homogenization, thermal treatment, storage, CIP cleaning, and bottle packaging.
The line is designed around 500 ml plastic bottles and includes the major processing stages required for commercial mango beverage production.
A complete solution allows the processing and packaging equipment to work as one production system, while the final configuration can be adjusted according to the customer’s mango raw materials, beverage formula, bottle specifications, factory layout, and utility conditions.
